Yoko Ono + Opening Ceremony Capsule Collection

Yoko Ono

Yoko Ono has quite an unique design aesthetic, which we'll soon get to see more of. The designer has teamed up with Opening Ceremony to create a capsule collection inspired by a series of sketches she gave to her husband {the late John Lennon} for their wedding in 1969Ono says the designs are homage to Lennon’s ‘hot bod’.

The 52 piece menswear collection is called ‘Fashions for Men: 1969 – 2012’ and is said to include a pair of boots complete with an incense holder and a pair of trousers with a hand sewn into the crotch {WOW!!!}. Though the items have not been revealed yet, Humberto Leon {co-founder of Opening Ceremony} told press that the pieces are close representations of the drawings.

“I think she just fell in love with John’s body and wanted to show off all of the parts of his body that she loved,” said Leon, “There’s something so beautiful about that sentiment. And we’ve realized these designs in pretty actual terms of how she drew them.”

The collection will be available from Opening Ceremony on Nov 27th in the United States, then Tokyo and London in the beginning of December. We're really excited to see this collection!!!
